What to expect when working with Mod Ledger.
Accounting & Bookkeeping Services
1. Initial Consultation & Needs Assessment
We’ll meet via Zoom, phone, or in person for a complimentary 30 minute consultation to learn about your business, goals, and current accounting setup & processes.
2. Service Agreement
After you decide to move forward with Mod Ledger, you’ll receive a contract, outlining the services and pricing for you to sign. This agreement will outline that the first month’s payment is due before work can begin.
3. Onboarding Process
Once your contract is signed & we’ve received your payment, we’ll communicate details of the onboarding process. Generally, the process takes 2-3 weeks to complete. During that time we will review your current setup, advise on adjustments & outline expectations for both Mod Ledger and our new client.
To help our new clients develop good habits for their business, there is also pre-recorded training and tests that must be completed.
While it doesn’t take long to get set up to take care of your bookkeeping tasks, there is a transition period that can take 2-6 months. It’s important that we all work together for clear communication & timely replies with questions.
4. Monthly Bookkeeping Workflow
Part of the onboarding process is developing the Workflow for your bookkeeping. We’ll send a document outlining how, when and how often to send documents, how to handle receipts, bank feeds, your credit card statements, etc. Deadlines for submitting information (to keep books current) will be noted along with when you will receive your updated financial statements.
5. Payment Process
We keep billing simple. Your first payment sets up autopay, so you never have to worry about missing a deadline. Payments are due on the 1st of each month to keep your bookkeeping services running smoothly. You’ll even receive a digital receipt every month for your records.


Tax Preparation & Filing Services


Gather all necessary documents ahead of your appointment (income forms, deductions, prior returns, and anything else relevant for filing).
Contact our office to set up your initial tax appointment. You can choose between a virtual meeting (with secure document upload) or an in-person meeting (where you’ll bring your documents with you).
If choosing a virtual appointment, we’ll send you a link to sign up for our secure client portal.
If choosing an in person appointment, bring your documents to your meeting.
During Tax Meeting #1, if you’re a new client, we’ll get to know you. We’ll go over your prior year return and make sure all of your tax forms are ready for the new filing. You’ll sign the tax agreement & get an estimate of the cost to file your tax return. If you’re our returning client, we'll catch up with you.
Then, our experts get to work on your tax return. If we have questions, we’ll reach out to you.
Once processed, our team will reach out to schedule Tax Meeting #2.
During Tax Meeting #2, we will review the details of your return. You’ll find out if you’re getting a refund or owe funds & how much. We’ll go over any questions you may have & suggestions we have on any adjustments that you may make for the next tax filing year. Then you’ll sign a form to authorize Mod Ledger to e-file your return. After paying your invoice, we will provide copies of your return for your records & file it accordingly. We’ll also let you know when your return has been approved by the IRS & State.
